Physiology of Hearing & Balance — Interactive Study Guide
How the Study Guide Works
Work through each checkpoint after the lecture. The guide follows the lecture's two pipelines: hearing (air → lever → fluid wave → place → ions → code) and balance (head moves → fluid or crystals lag → bundle bends → firing changes → VOR and posture). It mixes free-recall cards for the core chains, multiple-choice items for the distinctions students most often confuse, matching and ordering drills to organize related ideas, and True/False rapid fire for quick review. Mrs. Delgado, the lecture's anchor case, returns throughout. Answer from memory before you reveal or check; that retrieval is what makes it stick.
Each card names the lecture objective it targets (Obj 1–10). Board / Lecture Focus marks the questions asked during the lecture itself; it is not a Step 1 or COMLEX prediction. Clinical Application cards ask you to apply the physiology to a patient. Items marked ◆ go beyond the slides and come from the handout. A partly correct card counts as missed, and on a repeat pass the checkpoints you missed come up first. Use Shuffle once you know the material, to mix topics the way exams do.
